Our winter cross country competition was a huge success, with more than 160 athletes from five different primary schools participating and streams of positive feedback.
Now in its fourth year, we welcomed Years 3 to 6 students from Redhill, William Gilbert, Duffield Meadows, Bramcote Hills and Aston-on-Trent primary schools. We also included a Years 1 and 2 fun run this year, which was thoroughly enjoyed by Key Stage One pupils.
The blossoming tournament is organised by our talented PE department. Head of Physical Education and Dance, Mrs Moorhouse says:
“We’re extremely proud to host the winter cross country competition in our beautiful grounds. The races offer children a chance to experience the thrill of competition and build on professional relationships within the competing schools, all whilst having fun.
“I’d like to personally thank our wonderful Sixth Formers who assisted me with marshalling the event. You all acted extremely professional and did a fantastic job!”
Duffield Meadows Primary School tweeted: “@ockbrookschool a huge thank you for organising such a fantastic cross country event today. Well done to our runners who took part. I’m really proud of you all.”
