RESULTS DAY
10th & 12th August 2021 (A level & GCSE)

As Ockbrook School has now closed, we are no longer in a position to allow students and parents to come to the Birtill Hall on the results days. This is for a number of reasons which include staffing, health and safety, and insurance cover, among others. Instead, the results will be posted to the students by letter, and emailed to the student’s school email account. The email accounts will be reactivated by the end of this week. Unfortunately, we cannot send results to private email addresses.

Ockbrook School

With immense sadness and heavy hearts, we have to share with you the sad loss of our dear friend and colleague Mrs Pat Ward, who died peacefully at home on Christmas Eve, following a short illness.
We are still coming to terms with this ourselves, but we know what an incredible teacher and iconic figure she was to the pupils, parents and community at Ockbrook School.
Pat loved Ockbrook School. She loved all of the pupils in her care and made a huge impact to their education and confidence, shaping the path to their future lives. We will miss her infectious sense of fun, immaculate presentation and ability to know just what each child, parent and colleague needed to help them, at any given moment. She carried out her role with the utmost fairness and immense kindness, which combined to make her a perfect teacher. We were also incredibly lucky to know her, as a cherished friend.
We are respecting her family's wish to come to terms with their tragic loss in peace. In time, we hope that any messages of condolence and memories of Mrs Ward shared will bring them some comfort.

There are not enough words to describe the dedication, passion and love that Pat had for Ockbrook and every pupil within it. It was a privilege to work alongside her, to learn from her and most importantly laugh with her. I will miss you dearly Pat and every time I hear a tambourine or someone says whirlpool, I will smile, laugh and think of you 💔

I’m so terribly saddened to hear this awful news. Mrs Ward was a wonderful teacher at Greasley Beauvale Junior School prior to going to Ockbrook. I have many fond memories of her kindness and encouragement during my time as a pupil at Greasley and she was very highly regarded by my Dad - Mr Wooding - headmaster of the school at that time. She was a truly lovely, genuine and caring person who helped so many people. RIP, Mrs Ward x

Mrs Ward was my teacher in year 3 at Greasley Beauvale around 1973! After my first day, my mum asked me what I thought about my new class. My reply was that I loved my new teacher because she wore red lipstick, nice clothes, high heels and she smelled nice! Mrs Ward inspired me to go into the teaching profession myself. She was an excellent role model! I taught primary for 32 years and we linked up eventually again through Facebook. We often exchanged stories because I taught for a while at Redhill Primary in Ockbrook. She will be greatly missed by many and she has certainly sown many good seeds into so many lives. Sincere condolences to her family. A strong, glamorous, kind, generous and positive woman. Greatly loved and cherished. A life well lived, Mrs Ward!

This is very sad news. I have extremely fond memories of Mrs Ward at Greasley Beauvale. Particularly going camping with her, Mr Kay and Mr Young to Robin Hoods Bay. She was such fun, so glamorous and such an inspiring teacher. I really think my time at that school set me up for life and academia. Rip. X

I had the privilege of being taught by Mrs Ward almost 10 years ago. She found a way to make everything she did interesting and fun for us and nothing was ever too much for her, making me the person who I am today. One of Ocbrook’s finest, she’ll undoubtedly be sorely missed.

Such sad news to wake up to . Our three loved Mrs Ward, as did we . She gave my eldest the confidence she needed in year 6, ready to go up to seniors and also me the confidence to let her go ! She knew each child individually and had amazing skills that she would adapt to each one . A truly special teacher that summed up Ockbrook school . Always in our hearts and memories. Sending love to all of her family and friends at this truly sad time x

So sorry to hear this sad news. Pat Ward was a teacher at Greasley Beauvale junior school when my Father was headmaster there. He regarded her very highly as a teacher. She became a friend to all our family. Such a kind and thoughtful person. She will be greatly missed. R.I.P Pat.

So so sad. Sending love to all to all her family. What a fantastic lovely lady. Always going that extra mile to make people feel special. Xx

Thanks for the news Alison, I already knew and was going to let you know but somehow got sidetracked and forgot. I do apologise. Pat was a very special lady and will be missed by many. I have very happy memories of Pat and her two sons, Simon and Matthew.

Such sad news, Mrs Ward radiated the best and most infectiously positive energy in the classroom, she was a wonderful lady who never failed to make everyone smile. It was lovely to see her on the last Ockbrook day, she will be missed by so many 💗

So very sorry to hear of Pat’s passing - I admired and liked her tremendously; she was a born teacher who inspired children, colleagues and parents alike x

What sad news! Such a lovely lady with a smile that lit up any room. Sending love and condolences to her family. Rest peacefully. ❤️

What a truly wonderful lady and inspiring teacher she was. She won’t be forgotten by myself or my daughter who she taught in year 6. Rest in peace 😢

What an incredible lady. So grateful to have been taught by her in Year 6 at Ockbrook. She was incredibly kind and passionate about teaching, and I will always remember her. Sending love to her family 💜

A wonderful lady. So grateful our oldest was able to have been taught by Mrs Ward. She loved her. For me, the wisdom gained from teaching through the years shone through to reassure parents and children alike. Mrs Ward just ‘knew’. She knew everything! Plus, wasn’t she just the most beautiful, stylish and glamorous lady? It was so lovely to see her at Ockbrook’s final day. Again there supporting children, staff and families alike. A momentous loss to our world, the education system but mostly to her family and friends. Sending much love to them at this time.

A wonderful lady and brilliant teacher who had a huge impact on both pupils and parents. What a very sad loss, so sorry to hear this news. Mrs Ward will never be forgotten xx

Such sad news, such a lovely teacher was always smiles and laughs in her classroom! Sending all our love to her family! ❤️

So sad, She made a huge impact on our eldest daughter, a wonderful teacher who’s passion and talent touched all who passed through her classroom. My thoughts are with her family x

Natalia's favourite Teacher, and clearly cared for her. Talia fell into her class three times and we were always delighted to see her. Her smile was invaluable and insight, only experience and true care can offer. Love to the family, friends and parents.

So sad to hear this, my first teacher at Ockbrook who made me feel so welcome and looked out for everyone, Rest in peace ❤️ xx

Such sad news a wonderful lady and part of the Ockbrook Family, our thoughts are with her family and friends ❤️❤️❤️

It is with great sadness that the Trustees are informing you today of their decision to close Ockbrook School at the end of the Summer term. At Ockbrook School, we have aimed to develop individual potential and self worth through stimulating and positive relationships and through an understanding of Christian values, so that our pupils are prepared for the changes they will face in their future lives. We are tremendously proud of what we have achieved through the years. Their decision to shut the school was not taken lightly, and was driven by the school remaining significantly loss-making, exacerbated by the Covid Pandemic. We apologise to everyone affected by this. Parents are invited to contact Trustees directly in the event that they have any questions. ...

We are pleased to announce our new Nursery funding provision for 2021-22. From September we will be able to offer up to 30 hours funding to eligible children. Please contact our registrar by phone or via enquiries@ockbrooksch.co.uk

The children in Reception came into their classroom to find that someone had made a big mess in our cottage bakery! They quickly realised it was probably the Gingerbread man! They set to creating wanted /missing posters and stuck them around the building.
This has lead to some brilliant work around floating and sinking, bridge building, writing sorry letters and making traps.
