On Saturday 1st October it was an absolute pleasure to welcome more than 50 interested parents and prospective pupils as we swung open the school doors for our annual whole school open morning.
Open morning gives local parents and children a fantastic opportunity to experience first hand our very special school environment. It’s the unique combination of historic red brick buildings and modern classrooms, set against the backdrop of a beautiful rural campus, that provides our unique learning setting.
A huge amount of planning went into the morning, with our students taking centre stage and showing people around the school and taking part in various educational and sporting demonstrations. The wide range of activities appeal to our youngest visitors right through to our more senior guests; from LAMDA drama performances, science demonstrations and maths challenges to performances from the primary and secondary choir and musicians and sports demonstrations.
Our headmaster, Tom Brooksby said: “With recent media reports outlining a demand for school places in our catchment area, our open day was a great chance for local parents and children to get to know our wonderful school and all that it has to offer, discovering for themselves what it’s like from our high achieving students, both past and present.
“I am very grateful to all our staff and students, who supported our most recent open morning and which was a huge success. I’m equally appreciative of all the interested parents and children who joined us and I look forward to welcoming many of them to the school in the future.”
