Many thanks to all those involved with this year’s Ockbrook School Parents’ Association (OSPA) May Ball. We surpassed all previous records and raised an incredible £2,500.
Dressed to the nines at Morley Hayes, there was a wonderful mix of Year 13 students, parents and staff. Guests enjoyed a formal dinner dance and participated in fundraising games, a raffle and an auction.
Headmaster, Tom Brooksby said: “The OSPA May Ball is a much cherished annual occasion. Many thanks to all those who attended, those who pledged their time and for the extremely generous donations. Once again, the event delivered a fantastic evening and raised an impressive amount of funds, all of which will be invested into our school for the benefit of our pupils.”
Chair of OSPA, Jackie Smith said: “The May Ball is the main event in our calendar and this year certainly did not disappoint. A great time was had by all who attended and a record amount was raised for the school. The excellent feedback will ensure that this event will continue for years to come. On behalf of OSPA I would like to thank everyone who supported this event and others throughout the school year. Your help, generous donations and attendance at events is greatly appreciated”
The money raised through ticket sales and raffle efforts will be put to new equipment for the school. In previous years, thanks to the generosity of parents and companies, funds have gone towards fantastic projects including the outside play area, all weather furniture and specialist equipment.
