Ockbrook School is a coeducational day and boarding school for children aged 3-18 years. Boarding is available for girls and boys aged 9-18 only. Admission is available at any time.
Admissions will be considered at any point throughout an academic year. We are pleased to receive an application for admission from students irrespective of race, nationality, colour, ethnic or national origin, religion or creed, disability or previous educational background.
Prospective pupils for Primary aged 3-11 years will be required to spend at least one session in school working alongside their age group. This forms part of the school’s assessment procedure along with a reference. For prospective students for the Senior School (ages 11–16) application is by examination, interview and reference. This reference may also include the results of tests taken at the student’s current school (such as PIPS, MidYIS, NFER or SATs).
Prospective students aged 11-16 years may also be required to sit a formal Entrance Examination. 11+ and Sixth Form Entrance Examinations take place in January of each year.
Sixth Form entry is by predicted GCSE grades or entrance examination and a reference from the student’s current school. If a candidate is selected, a conditional offer to join the school in the following September will be made provided a minimum of 7 A*- B / 9 – 6 GCSEs is attained. Sixth Form scholarships are available to both internal and external candidates. Candidates in any age group will not be penalised if a reference is not provided.
