The Sixth Form at Ockbrook School is unlike any other. Our ability to offer a tailored learning experience means we get the best out of each and every student – as is shown in our results at A Level year on year.

Your individual experience really matters to us. We know you have strong ambitions for your future and so do we. The academic and pastoral support we are able to offer enables you to reach your goals – whatever they may be.

The Sixth Form at Ockbrook provides you with all the preparation you need life beyond A Level. We have both outstanding academic and enrichment programmes.

Our Sixth Form affords you all the learning and social space and facilities you need. We know that Sixth Form is where lifelong friendships are forged and flourish and our Sixth Form structure, with mixed Year 12 and Year 13 Forms, helps to support this.

Extended Project Qualification

The EPQ offers Year 12 students the opportunity to complete a project on a topic of their own choosing. It involves 120 hours of which approximately 30 must be the teaching of skills.  Students work independently for the remaining 90 hours. The final project is expected to be of A Level standard. The EPQ is offered as a stand-alone qualification attracting a maximum of 28 UCAS points; it is popular with universities because it provides students with an opportunity to work almost entirely independently, thus giving them a taste of the way they will be expected to work as an undergraduate.

Enrichment is offered in addition to the Academic Subjects

All students spend Wednesday afternoon engaged in enrichment activities.  Students are given a wide choice ranging from:

Social Activities

At Ockbrook we recognise the need for relaxation and fun in and amongst the A Level studies. The Sixth Form enjoy a wide range of organised social activities each half term, including the annual induction visit, Winter Ball, post mock examination event, May Ball and summer social.
