Interest in joining our school community continues to grow. We welcomed more than 40 potential students and their families through our doors on Saturday 10th March for what turned out to be another incredibly successful whole school Open Day.
The school and grounds were awash with enthusiastic new faces experiencing the very best that Ockbrook has to offer. That included a range of exciting and interactive science experiments, courtesy of Mr Gupta and the Science Department. Not to be outdone, the Music Department put on a fine show with performances of our home grown talent throughout the morning.
With better weather we were able to showcase the school’s beautiful grounds. The Sports Department organised a number of indoor and outdoor activities. Current students got hands-on with different sports, demonstrating the wide range of extra curricular activities that our students enjoy.
Members of our entrepreneurial Year 12 Young Enterprise company, Vortex, were on hand to talk about their experience of the Young Enterprise Company Programme. And not to miss an opportunity to reach out to new customers, they had a range of merchandise available on sale including t-shirt packs and personal journals.
Despite the previous snowy conditions causing us to reschedule open day, we were delighted with the numbers and received dozens of positive comments from prospective families. I’d like to extend my personal thanks to everyone who was involved on the day and behind the scenes; you were all a true credit to our school community.
